Local to Dickie Dirts Curiosity Shop, Newquay is home of British Surfing and the British Surfing Association with beaches facing in all directions. It is widely considered to be the capital of England’s surfing scene with 11 beaches stretching over seven miles of golden sand. There is a good spread of types of surf for all abilities and with the right conditions it has some really excellent breaks. It is not surprising that this one-time fishing village has transformed itself into the surfer’s paradise holding events such as the Rip Curl Boardmasters Event which this year marks the highest level of surf, skate, BMX, Wakeboard and FMX ever seen in the UK.
